Sacred Hopi Corn has been grown in ceremony for many thousands of years. In every Hopi village, masked dances are performed by the young men, throughout the year. In preparation for each dance ceremony, clan elders gather in the kivas for nine days of pipe and prayer. |

| The Sacred Corn carries the memory of all the adaptations it has made throughout its long history, and all the prayers and blessings of its human guardians. |
