For Millenia, Hopi corn has grown on the high desert plains of Arizona, but the nature spirits of the Somerset wetlands were welcoming, and an abundant crop of Hopi corn was harvested at the Samhain full moon. The wild borage plant seeded itself amongst the growing corn plants. It carries the qualities of resilience and courage. |

Making One Heart Medicines. On 11th September 2004, pollens and silks of Hopi corn, and flowers from wild borage were collected in crystal glass bowls filled with spring water from the red and the white springs of Glastonbury Tor. They remained for one full cycle of night and day. The night was cloudless, and the stars and moon shone brightly. |

The Rishi Star was making a rare appearance in the Northern skies. According to the Vedas, a great Rishi (seer) was transformed into a star, to send healing to all beings. It is said that water illuminated by its light becomes nectar and is imbued with healing qualities. In Tibet, physicians prepared medicines under its auspices, and people made pilgrimages to hot springs, to bathe under its light. Known to western astronomers as Canopus, The Rishi Star is the 2nd brightest star in the sky and 30,000 times brighter than our sun. |
